Country of Origin Labelling submission

Food South Australia members, and the broader food manufacturing industry in South Australia are strongly aware of the consumer debate around country of origin labelling issues.

Food South Australia attended an industry consultation session at the Hilton Adelaide just before Christmas 2015 as part of understanding the Country of Origin Labelling process, and subsequently distributed a questionnaire developed by the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science to the food industry in Food South Australia eNews distributed in January.

We received a small number of completed responses due to the timing of the consultation process but, from these, and discussions with members and anecdotal evidence, we have prepared and submitted a response to the Country of Origin Labelling Regulation Impact Statement Consultation, available for you to view.
