EXPLORE OPPORTUNITIES IN SHANGHAI
Food SA and Primary Industries and Regions SA (PIRSA) are partnering to deliver a series of events in the Shanghai market in May 2014. The trade events include SIAL China the leading Asian tradeshow anticipates 45,000 visitors, a trade forum delivered in partnership with Shanghai Commission of Commerce and Shanghai SMEs Centre for international Cooperation, a networking event with Shanghai businesses, and a visit to Changxing Island Development a major fishing port. NEW GRANT OPEN FOR FOOD MANUFACTURERS
A new Advanced Food Manufacturing Grants Program is now open until Wednesday 2 April 2014 for eligible food manufacturers. The grant is part of the State Government’s Food Hub which seeks to build greater business competitiveness and innovation capabilities in the State’s food manufacturing sector. The grant aims to facilitate projects directed at a more rapid translation, or adaptation, of existing research and technology to commercial outcomes so helping the development of new high value food products and/or encouraging adoption of more advanced manufacturing processes. FOOD ON THE POLITICAL AGENDA
The South Australian food industry appears to be on the agenda for the upcoming State Election on 15 March 2014. Both the Liberal and Labor parties have released policies for you to be aware of and consider. The Liberal SA party have released Growing Our Food Exports, and the Agribusiness, Food & Wine Bicentenary Plan, whilst Labor SA has released Agribusiness Accelerator.
