LEARN WITH LEADING INNOVATORS
Food SA together with Mondelez International (formerly Kraft Foods) are providing a unique opportunity to bring together small and medium South Australian food companies to immerse in a two day workshop on innovation, collaboration and exporting to Asia. Mondelez International is home to iconic local and international brands such as Vegemite, Cadbury Dairy Milk, Kraft, Ritz Crackers, The Natural Confectionery Company, Oreo and Philadelphia – to name just a handful! Attendees to this three day workshop will learn about innovation best practice, consumer-centric design and collaborative innovation. The attendees will also tour the Food Innovation Centre facilities. The workshop is ideal for decision makers leading innovation and new product development in companies wanting to export or that are currently exporting. Think Food, South Australia’s only dedicated tradeshow is on again Tuesday 29 April 2014 at the Adelaide Festival Centre. In its fifth year, Think Food is a proven cost effective event to help businesses increase distribution and sales in new and existing markets. WE ARE WHAT WE EAT! FOOD SA SUMMIT IN APRIL
So what are we eating today? With our busy lifestyles, and work and families changing so fast, so too are our eating habits, and our choices of what we eat. The fourth annual Food SA Summit is specifically created for the SA food industry to help enhance current thinking and knowledge on sustaining and developing food businesses and products. It is a must attend event for food growers, producers and eaters, who gather to hear guest speakers and specialists from the food industry, and network with their peers. Speakers will include Bernard Salt, a leading commentator and trends business adviser and Partner, KPMG; Joel Salatin, Director Polyface; Rodney Dunn, Director, The Agrarian Kitchen; Peter Morgan Jones, Food Ambassador/Executive Chef at Hammond Care; Nicholas Georges, Director Premium Chocolate and Dairy Research and Development Asia Pacific – Mondelēz International; and Professor Goran Roos, world leader in business model innovation in manufacturing. KANGAROO ISLAND FEASTIVAL LAUNCH
Food SA is again supporting the annual Kangaroo Island Feastival with the launch on Friday 21 February at the Adelaide Central Market from 4-7pm. Rosa Matto, Tony Nolan and Kate Sumner will be cooking up recipes, bringing the best of KI to your plate with products including Southrock lamb, Island Pure cheeses, KI Source relish, Kangaroo Island Olive Oil and local ligurian honey. Visit for a taste and recipe card! The KI Feastival is on from 24 to 28 April and includes celebrity chefs Matt Moran and Margaret Fulton as part of the five day degustation of over 15 dining events.
BLOG TO FEED INDUSTRY CONNECTIONS
Food SA has started a blog: Feeding Connections which will help connect the dots between the challenges that you, our industry members face and the many creative solutions that are already available to you on the market. Blog topics will include new product development, packaging, process innovation, ICT in food manufacturing, food business practices, sustainability and capabilities and skill development. We hope the Feeding Connections blog becomes a two-way communication channel for businesses working in the food industry or providing innovative services to the food industry.
