The South Australia Food and Beverage Export Hub offers a one-stop-export-shop to assist South Australian food and beverage businesses to fast track your export growth. Through the Hub, we can connect you with the right information and the right people to help you make the best decisions and identify potential opportunities and manage the risks associated with exporting your products.
What is the South Australia Food and Beverage Export Hub?
The South Australia Food and Beverage Export Hub offers you a supported approach to developing your business for the export market. The Export Hub is focused on eight key export markets across three modules of support: China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, United Arab Emirates, United States and Vietnam.
Each module offers different levels of support designed to build on each other and tailored to your needs for your stage of export growth.
Module 1: Export Ready
This module focuses on giving you the tools to become export ready and provides you with an overview of the eight markets in the program to help you start planning for successful export.
Program available until June 2022.
Module 2: FTA Market Advantage
This module is designed for businesses wanting to take advantage of Free Trade Agreements. It includes access to FTA information and tools with one-on-one market access guidance*, trade show assistance (FOODEX – Japan, Food and Hotel Asia – Singapore and SIAL China) and export plan development.
*Available for businesses targeting export to China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and Vietnam.
Program available until June 2020.
Module 3: Export Coaching
Coaching is the key feature of this module, which builds on the previous modules to give you the opportunity to access tailored assistance in areas such as product development and formulation, regulation, consumer insights and competitor analysis, and identifying suitable sales partners in target markets*.
This module includes the opportunity to participate in international trade shows in your target market (either by priority invitation to exhibit or inclusion in the Food South Australia Producer Showcase). In-market meetings and tours may also be available alongside these trade shows.
Businesses participating in Module 3 are also eligible to be invited to join the Export Cluster, further enhancing your export capabilities through business-to business (B2B) connections and consolidation opportunities.
* Available for businesses targeting export to China, Japan, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and United States.

Who is it for?
The Export Hub is open to South Australian registered food or beverage manufacturing, processing and producing businesses employing between 1 and 199 full time equivalent staff who are:
- considering exporting for the first time
- already exporting and considering entering new markets
- already exporting and considering engaging with a new distribution channel or partner.
Limited places are available to participate in this program and applicants will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
What does it cost?
- Module 1 – Export Ready: Food South Australia members $450, non-members $900
- Module 2 – FTA Market Access: Food South Australia members $3,000, non-members $3,900
- Module 3: Export Coaching: Food South Australia members $5,000, non-members $7,700

Austrade International Readiness Indicator (IRI)
Austrade provides a comprehensive online assessment of international export readiness. You can complete the International Readiness Indicator here to receive an assessment of export readiness. Applicants to the South Australia Food and Beverage Export Hub program will be asked to complete this assessment and provide a copy of the results to Food South Australia as part of the application process.
The South Australia Food and Beverage Export Hub program has been developed by Food South Australia.
This program receives grant funding from the Australian Government’s SME Export Hubs and FTA-ME grant opportunities.
The program also receives funding support from the Government of South Australia through an industry-government partnership designed to support industry-wide growth.
