On 1 September 2017, Food South Australia released a strategic framework for food and beverage industry growth through innovation. This framework has been developed from industry’s own identified priorities and challenges. It is available to all who are involved in the development of programs, projects, policy and services for the South Australian food and beverage industry.
The objective of this framework is to provide an industry-led context to ensure proposed activities and policies are responding to real needs and challenges. It includes four overarching priorities identified by the industry as critical to enabling successful growth and innovation, focusing on business and industry growth, growing skills, creating an environment for successful collaboration and establishing innovative business models.
The strategic themes were identified through a major research project undertaken by Food South Australia and the Centre for Global Food and Resources at the University of Adelaide. Conducted through 2016/17, the research process included a survey, workshops and in-depth interviews. The project was undertaken with funding support from Primary Industries and Regions SA.
