As the peak body for the food and beverage industry in South Australia, Food South Australia is the voice of this important industry. We represent you at all levels of government and across local, national and international markets. We monitor issues affecting the sector and keep you informed through our membership communications.
Currently we are engaging in discussions on issues including:
- Country of Origin Labelling: Seeking member feedback on the impact of recent changes to Country of Origin Labelling requirements
- EPS panels: Investigating the challenges emerging and seeking ways to support industry and the development of possible solutions for the significant increase in premiums the industry is experiencing.
- Access to China and cold chain logistics

Creating a Modern Industry Policy for South Australia
Development of a new industry policy that will help support businesses to grow, develop a global outlook, increase global competitiveness, and ensure that new businesses can start and thrive in South Australia.
Closing date for contributions to the Food SA submission is Thursday 7 March 2019.

Riverland Wine and Food Centre Consultation
The Government of South Australia is seeking industry input to help inform the development of a business case to establish a dedicated wine and food centre in the Riverland.
Single Use Plastics
The State Government is seeking ideas on measures to better protect our environment from impacts associated with single-use plastic products.
Container Deposit Legislation
The State Government is also undertaking a consultation of the state’s container deposit legislation, seeking ideas on how to improve South Australia’s current container deposit scheme..
