New contract export position with Food South Australia

Food South Australia’s mission is to support the growth of the South Australian food and beverage industry. We have recently been awarded a grant to develop an SA Food and Beverage Export Hub. The project will bring together business, research and government organisations and agencies to support food and beverage manufacturers and producers in South Australia, and will offer specialist advice and support through tailored coaching and case management to help SMEs in the industry achieve their export goals. We are now seeking an experienced Export Project Manager to deliver this 3.25 year Federal Government-funded program.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the contract and successfully delivering all aspects of the program. You will be working with project partners, state and federal government, industry, service providers. Managing these stakeholders effectively and understanding their individual priorities is a key aspect of this position and, as such, you will possess outstanding interpersonal skills. Additionally, you will be responsible for recruiting businesses into the program. You will then facilitate and manage these businesses via coaching, export cluster groups/workshops, in market visits and gathering market intelligence to assist them to achieve their goals.
To be successful in this role, you will be tertiary qualified in either international marketing or project management, or hold another relevant qualification. You will already possess extensive experience in project and budget management as well as superior time management skills which will allow you to work concurrently on multiple deadlines. You will show a demonstrated ability to think strategically, identify opportunities and balance a varying workload. Ideally, you will also possess extensive experience in food and beverage export market development.
Knowledge of the South Australian and wider Australian food and beverage industry, existing strong networks within the food and beverage or complementary industries will be highly regarded. This role will include travel (both domestic and international) and some outside of hours work will be required.
While this role runs for an average of 2.5 days per week over the life of the project, these hours will fluctuate in peak times, such as when attending in-market events and trade shows.
In addition, Food South Australia has also been awarded a 12 month Federal Government grant to provide support to the South Australian food and beverage industry in relation to free trade agreements in China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore. This will also be a part time position and could possibly be combined with the Export Hub position. Depending on the candidate’s preference, this would change the hours of work to become full time for the first year and then changing back to 2.5 days per week for the remaining two years.
