Food South Australia released a strategic framework focusing on growing our sector through innovation.
This framework is the result of our major research project over the last 12 months, undertaken with the Centre for Global Food and Resources with supporting funding from Primary Industries and Regions SA. The goal of this research was to develop an industry-led set of priorities and identify our sector’s challenges and opportunities. The framework is now available on our website.
Our objective was to allow our industry to set the priorities and directly inform stakeholders of the needs and challenges that face us, given that the food and beverage industry is critical to the economic sustainability and growth of this state. Food South Australia invites everyone connected with our industry – policy makers, program and service providers and food businesses – to use this document to gain context for your activities.
We invite you to also read through fact sheets on our website about the Growth Through Innovation Strategy Research Project and the findings of our latest State of the South Australian Food Industry Report on our website.
A key finding of our research has been a concentration of young entrepreneurial food businesses in South Australia. While they are achieving in product and market development, these businesses are telling us they know they also need to develop strong and robust business and operations systems to ensure their future. With this in mind, this month we are pleased to launch our Finance Fundamentals for Food and Beverage toolkit, developed for us by Moore Stephens SA (read more about this below). This online guide is an easy way to quickly ‘health check’ your financial skills and make sure you have the right reports at your fingertips to plan for financial success.
