Ignite your business finance skills with this one day workshop, plus an option for one-to-one business coaching. This important opportunity is brought to you through collaboration between Food South Australia and the South Australian Wine Industry Association.
This workshop is open to South Australian food and beverage manufacturers and wine businesses, and is designed to raise your awareness and improve your understanding of the essential finance skills you need for examining your current business performance and setting strategies for the future.
Fired Up Finance will help you to identify the important business financial information that will help you make more informed decisions for your day-to-day business operations. It will also provide you with practical advice and techniques to interpret financial information and apply it to your business operations.
This workshop is appropriate for small business owners and managers who make important operational decisions with limited financial training and resources.
Are you making a profit but can’t see the cash?
In the morning session you will learn about business systems that can deliver timely and easy to understand financial information to drive your business operations efficiently and effectively. Learn to identify the finance essentials, where to focus your attention and how to quickly apply that information and knowledge in your business.
Are your sales growing but your profit seems to be going backwards?
In the afternoon session you will be provided with a practical framework for accurately assessing the costs associated with producing your products, and a better understanding of how these costs can affect your business operations and level of profitability. Financial advisers will also share valuable information about how to talk to your bank to get better financial outcomes – including those all-important lending arrangements.

Included in the cost of the workshop is an option to access a confidential 1.5 hour coaching session with one of our specialist presenters. You will receive individual support and advice drawn from their extensive food and wine industry experience. The session can be tailored to your requirements including addressing your specific finance questions and issues.
Tim Sargent of Moore Stephens works with a variety of food clients from dairy manufacturing to large seafood processing plants. He has a passion for food businesses that spans two decades.
With formal qualifications in accounting, marketing and human resources, Tim will bring fresh thinking and share examples of the importance of cash and the true costs of products and being in business.
Tim Siebert is a Director of business advisory firm Bentleys SA, providers of business modelling, strategic planning, management reporting, performance and cost improvement support with a focus on the wine industry and agribusiness sector.
Tim will unpack the high level financial decision-making process for participants.
