Food South Australia is pleased to welcome two new board members after the Annual General Meeting was held last week.
Johanna Churchill, Partner at Norman Waterhouse Lawyers and Alex Knoll, National Sales Manager and Brand Ambassador of Barossa Fine Foods were both elected by members to the board, announced Food South Australia Chief Executive Officer, Catherine Barnett.
“Now entering our fifth year of operation; Food South Australia is forging ahead with a new strategic plan and vision to continue to grow membership and outcomes, with programs and projects aimed at growing markets, capability and connections for the South Australian food industry”, says Catherine.
“We are pleased to welcome these two new board members who will provide significant experience and contribution towards Food South Australia’s vision and the industry as a whole.
“Norman Waterhouse Lawyers have been a sponsor of Food South Australia since inception and provide critical legal support to the association and members, so it’s great to have Johanna join us on the Food South Australia board.
It’s also great to have Alex Knoll joining the board as Barossa Fine Foods has been a longstanding member of the association and is a great example of a growing business in South Australia.
Food South Australia also acknowledges and thanks out‐going board members; Chris Hummel from Wintulichs and Tom Pledge from Crawford Legal for their commitment and contribution towards Food South Australia over their terms.
Other board members re-elected were Anthony Paech Beerenberg; Dimi Kyriazis, Golden North; Phil Sims, Robern Menz and George Ujvary, Olga’s Fine Foods.
NEW BOARD MEMBERS
JOHANNA CHURCHILL, NORMAN WATERHOUSE LAWYERS
Johanna is a Partner in Norman Waterhouse’s Corporate and Commercial team and advises a wide range of clients, both national and international, on a wide range of matters relating to all aspects of business structuring, transactions and compliance with laws affecting businesses. In addition to her skills as a general commercial practitioner, she has a specific interest and expertise in the areas of business succession, corporate governance, securities regulation and the not for profit sector.
Johanna has previously acted as the South Australian Regional Chair of the Licensing Executive Society of Australia and New Zealand as well as having previously served on the Board of Management of the Bedford Industries Foundation, Siblings Australia Inc. and Australian Health Industry Incorporated. Johanna is currently also the President of Spastic Centres of South Australia and a board member of the Australian Podiatry Association SA.
ALEX KNOLL, BAROSSA FINE FOODS
Alex Knoll is National Sales Manager and Brand Ambassador for Barossa Fine Foods, a family business and the largest smallgoods manufacturer in South Australia as well as the most awarded smallgoods maker in Australia.
In his 15 years in the food industry, Alex has gained experience in smallgoods manufacturing, product development, brand development and management, customer relations, sales, event management and consumer education. He is also involved in business strategy and direction through his position on the Barossa Fine Foods board. For the past seven years, Alex has also held a position on the Bone Growth Foundation board and is currently Deputy Chair.
